Abby Richard is a gentle, nervous system focused yoga teacher and reiki master, who blends ancient traditions, alongside modern neuroscience with a focus on internal awareness and tension release.

A 200hr RYT, she trained with teachers from Rishikesh from the Siddhi Institute and specializes in adaptive and restorative styles of yoga. She is also a practicing reiki master and ordained minister and serves as a cofacilitator of reiki training programs.

She graduated with an honor’s degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and published her thesis research on the benefits of adaptive yoga intervention for individuals with chronic brain injury. You can find her work in the 2023 special issue of The American Journal of Occupational Therapy.

She curates classes, workshops, ceremonies, and retreats, to bring you home to the innate healing abilities of your body, and give you evidence-based tools to master the weather patterns of your mind.

During her degree, she fell in love with the healing power of practices that combine breath, movement, and awareness. She began studying yoga and teaching friends in her living room in 2020.

After studying Spiritual Practices in Thailand, she graduated and moved to Florida, where she entered the holistic mental health field. She utilized many of the tools she had learned in Yoga and meditative practices to help create nervous system soothing experiences for her patients.

When she realized her purpose to act as a bridge for ancient and modern wisdom, she left the medical field and founded The Skies Within, a business that integrates all branches of her background.

The name “The Skies Within” reflects the transient and ever changing weather patterns of our internal and external experience, and the ability we have to transcend the weather patterns to experience the endless blue sky within each of us. It was chosen to honor her teachers, ancestors, and the name she was given by her tribe.
