What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy-based wellness practice originating in Japan.
During a session, you remain fully clothed and comfortably resting on a massage table while Reiki is offered through light touch or hands held just above the body. You don't need to know how to meditate, understand energy work, or have any previous experience.
You simply get to rest.
Many people seek Reiki as a way to create space for relaxation, reflection, grounding, and reconnection with themselves. Your experience may be quiet and deeply restful, or you may notice sensations, emotions, thoughts, imagery, or very little at all.
There is no "right" way to experience Reiki.
My approach combines Reiki with my background in Neuroscience with the same grounded, body-aware presence I bring to my yoga and wellness work. Each session is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and give your body and mind some uninterrupted space to simply be.
Curious but not sure if Reiki is for you? That's completely okay. Your first session can simply be an opportunity to experience it for yourself.
Benefits of Reiki
Stress Relief
Calms the nervous system, encouraging the release of feel-good neurotransmitters in the brain, and the reduction of stress hormones,
Pain Management
May soften the edges of pain for those dealing with chronic conditions, and longterm injuries. Reiki helps reduce inflammation and improve the flow of energy, and nutrients to problem areas. This makes it a great therapy to pair with medical treatments and your current medical plan of care.
Improved Sleep
Helps to calm the system, inducing alpha and theta brainwaves. Reiki takes the body from a state of arousal which makes deep states of sleep difficult, into a state of balance in circadian rhythm where we can access deep states of sleep including REM
Clarity
Accessing this depth of meditation and quiet in the mind can encourage a deeper mind-body connection, help us to access the subconscious mind, and allow us to tune into subtle energies and messages from the body.
